BookTube, the bookish community on YouTube, started in 2010. The book-related videos originally accounted for a very small amount of YouTube’s content, with the engagement mostly being creators following one another.

Soon though, word began to spread and the number of channels increased, covering a large variety of genres. Followers could check out book reviews, hauls, author interviews, join in discussions and so much more.
